Lee Jung Jae was awarded yet again for his spectacular performance in “Squid Game.” The star was nominated at the Annual 37th 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards under the category of “Best Male Performance In A Scripted Series.” Lee Jung Jae beat out fierce competition to win the nomination on March 7th.
The actor won over other male actors such as Olly Alexander, “It’s A Sin”, Michael Greyeyes, “Rutherford Falls”, Murray Bartlett, “The White Lotus”, and Ashley Thomas, “THEM: Covenant.”
Lee Jung Jae had issued a speech for his win through a recorded video. The star commented, “Thank you for this meaningful award. I am grateful to everyone who loved the series, and I extend this to my Squid Game team as well.”

Lee Jung Jae is the next Korean act to have won an award at the said award show. Actress Youn Yuh Jung and “Parasite” director Bong Joon Ho were awarded for their craft in 2021 and 2020, respectfully. Youn Yuh Jung was recognized for her performance in “Minari” in 2021 under the “Best Supporting Female” nomination and director Bong Joon Ho was given his time in the limelight for his movie, “Parasite”, under the “Best International Film” category.
Lee Jung Jae is currently on a winning streak with his “Squid Game” performance as the male protagonist. The actor recently won the “Male Actor in a Drama Series” nomination at the prestigious SAG Awards (Screen Actors Guild Awards).
The star is also nominated under the Critics’ Choice Awards for “Best Actor in a Drama Series” and under a similar category for the upcoming Emmy Awards.
