BTS can now add another to their list of awards. The group had managed to snag a total of ten awards at the Japanese Golden Disk Awards. The achievement earns the group the title of the first for a foreign artist to have achieved such a feat.
A Japanese record released a set of winners of the 36th Annual Japanese Golden Disk Awards on March 14th.
BTS clinched the Best Asian Artist, Album of the Year,
Best 3 Album, Music Video of the Year awards and more.
BTS had previously won eight nominations at the Golden Disk last year. This year, the group added two more to their previous record.
What’s more is that the Best Artist category has been hailed as BTS’s category for a total of four years.
BTS had managed to win the Album of the Year and Best 3 Album awards with their “BTS, The Best” album, a Japanese collection of their greatest hits.
“Butter” had won the group a total of four awards, with Song of the Year by Download, Best 5 Song by Download, Song of the Year by Streaming, and Best 5 Song by Streaming.
“Permission to Dance” also scored BTS a win on the Best 5 Song by Streaming category. “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” had clinched the same nomination.
BTS’s collaboration song with Coldplay, “My Universe” had won the group the Song of the Year by Download on the pop song charts.
The group’s online concert released back in October of 2020, in DVD form “BTS Map Of The Soul ON:E” had won the group, the Music Video of the Year.
BTS thanked the fans for their short speech upon winning the ten awards. “It’s always an honor to win such awards, and we all think it’s the doing of our fans.”
BTS further commented, “Thank you so much. We will continue to do even better so that we could bring you all warmth through our music.”
