Brave Girls, Live From the 'Thank You' Showcase
by. Sumin Song

2021 was a memorable year for Brave Girls. The group has been through an emotional roller coaster ride, facing the reality of disbandment until their previous song had risen to prominence. Brave Girl's recent comeback is a message of gratitude to their fans, (fearless).

Brave Girls held an online showcase on March 23rd for the release of their 6th mini album, "Thank You." The showcase was postponed to a week later than the initial date due to the positive Covid-19 diagnosis of two of the members.

Brave Girls credit 2021 as a year, nothing short of a miracle. The group went viral for their previous 2017 track, "Rollin" four years after its released. Naturally, Brave Girls' other tracks had also started climbing the charts. "We Ride" was the 2nd song from the group to see its moment of fame, and the members had formed once again to promote "Chi Mat Ba Ram."

Brave Girls remarked, "We had received a tremendous amount of love and support last year. We were so thankful. This album release is dedicated towards our fans, with the message of gratitude. We were able to come this far because of our fans."

The album is composed of a total of five songs. The title track is called "Thank You" and other songs on the list are a remix version of the title track, "You and I", "Love is Gone", and "Can I Love You."

"Thank You" is a disco funk genre, bringing back the trendy retro music. The lyrics includes messages of gratitude such as "I wonder if I'd be here if it weren't for you", "I want to say thank you" and more.

Yoojeong remarked, "We received so much love last year. It's a miracle. We sang this with passion towards our fans who had never once left our sides."

Yuna also commented, "The album includes everything we want to say. I hope our fans all get the chance to hear the messages we poured our hearts into."

Brave Girls had also performed a rendition of their track, "Love is Gone." The song is a dance track, and the use of the lyrics of soap bubbles are there to signify the loss of a love.

The acoustic guitar is one of the key factors in the song. Brave Girls sang emotionally through their microphones. The track is different from their usual concepts but great nonetheless.

Ever since Brave Girls' breakout year, they found to have had a number of nicknames associated with themselves. They were called the "summer queens", "music queens" and more. The members expressed, "We want to be the queens of newtro culture."

The members also mentioned a few goals that they had planned. "Our fandom grew with more international fans since last year. We really want to be able to see our foreign fans too."

Brave Girls is stepping foot on the popular competition show, "Queendom 2." The members remarked, "We feel that the competition show is a great experience for us to improve and grow even more. It's a goal for us to show that side of us."

The members further explained, "We also find that it's a great way to get our name across even more. We'll show a side to us that hasn't been shown before and a variety of other concepts."

Lastly, they concluded the showcase with a message "It's been a year since our songs went viral. It was such an experience. We want to spend this year giving back to our fans. Please expect more great things in the future."

Brave Girls had released the group's 6th mini album, "Thank You" on February 16th. The group is expected to kick off promotions for the track soon.
