The beloved Korean classic film, "Ditto" is getting a remake after twenty-two years. The Yoo Ji Tae and Kim Ha-neul movie will be made into a 2022 version.
The main leads will be played by Yeo Jin Goo and Jo Yi Hyun. The supporting roles will be taken on by Kim Hye Yoon, Na In-woo, and Bae In-hyuk.
"Ditto" is a melodrama romance genre. A young male and female find themselves in a weird twist of fate when the two find that they could communicate through walkie-talkies, at different time periods. The two find comfort in one another while they talk love and friendship during their own times.
Yeo Jin Goo plays a college freshman student in 1995 who majors in Mechanical Engineering. The actor goes by the character, "Yong." Yeo Jin Goo plays the part of Yoo Ji Tae's character in the original film.
Jo Yi Hyun plays a college freshman in the year 2021 named Moo Nee. The character is a sociology major in the film and is the lead female character in the film. The star recently rose to prominence for her role in the hit Netflix series, "All Of Us Are Dead." The star has taken on a role with a character completely different from her last.
Kim Hye Yoon will play the character of Yong's first love, Hansol. Na In-woo will act as Young Ji, a caring male friend to Moo Nee. Bae In Hyuk is Yong's best friend, Eun sung.
Director Seo Eun Young will direct the remake. Director Seo is known for her previous work "Go Back." The film went on to win the director an award at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
The movie has finalized its cast and will begin filming in May.
