aespa appeared as a global speaker of the UN Forum.

aespa participated in the opening section of the 2022 High-Level Forum on Sustainable Development held at the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York at 9:00 am on the 5th (local time).

The forum is a place where various stakeholders, including the government, women, the disabled, workers, civic groups, and companies, gather to review and discuss whether the Sustainable Development Goals are being followed by each country.

On this day, aespa gave a speech under the theme of 'Next Generation to the Next Level'. It encouraged interest in and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

First, the Vice President of the UN Economic and Social Council introduced, "We can learn a lesson from the K-pop group aespa, who attended as representatives of the younger generation. They make a harmony with their wonderful songs and choreography."

The topic was addressed with aespa's spelling. “All(voices should be heard), Equity and empowerment, Sustainability and synergy, Planet and people, Architecture,” they said.

Giselle started speaking English. "It's an honor to be invited to here. aespa is a metaverse (ae)girl group that crosses real and virtual. The members exist in the real world, and the avatar members exist in the metaverse."

She continued, "The metaverse is an infinite realm that transcends all boundaries, such as reality and virtuality, time and space, genre, and generation. Various possibilities are open, and many people are paying attention, researching and developing it."

Here, the topic of sustainable development was raised. "At a time when interest in the metaverse is accelerating, the question arises, 'Are you working hard enough on the real world?'" She said.

aespa said, "If the reality is exhausted, wouldn't it be difficult to protect the possibilities of the virtual world. Without equal opportunity for a sustainable earth, there will be no reality that the metaverse can reflect."

She emphasized the topic. "I think the topic of sustainable development being discussed is very important. It is important that the next generation fully support the Sustainable earth," she said.

Lastly, she said, "We will try to communicate and sympathize with the next generation through our music, and to inform the goals for sustainable development in the real world and in the metaverse."

After finishing the speech, aespa showed the stage of the hit song 'Next Level' in a video at the forum site. The powerful performance received a warm response.

Meanwhile, aespa will release their 2nd mini album 'Girls' on the 8th. On this day, they will appear for the first time as a K-pop girl group in the 'Good Morning America Summer Concert Series 2022'.
