BTS and BTS’ agency HYBE have announced that they will hold a concert in Busan to promote bidding for Busan’s World Expo 2030.
The Busan World Expo 2030 held its first strategic meeting at the Seoul office on yesterday afternoon. Park Jung-Wook (Secretary General of the Bidding Committee), Lee Seong-Kwon (Deputy Mayor of Economics of Busan City) and Park Ji-Won (CEO of Hybe) were all in attendance.
During the meeting, the representatives discussed plans for BTS’s appointment ceremony as ambassadors for the 2030 Busan World Expo, the bidding committee’s desire to hold a global concert for the Expo, voting strategies for the upcoming International Exposition Organization (BIE) general meeting, and more.
Following discussions, the bidding committee will officially appoint BTS as ambassadors for the 2030 Busan World Expo this month. They also plan to hold a concert in Busan later this year in October to promote and spread the word of the 2030 Busan World Expo all over the world.
On this day, Secretary General Park Jung-Wook said, “I am confident that BTS’ support will be a great help in a fierce competition for the bids and am truly grateful for their cooperation.”
Lee Seong-Kwon, Deputy Mayor of Busan City, added, “this was a meaningful meeting where we could discuss concrete measures as soon as possible, after signing the memorandum of understanding [MOU].”
Park Ji-Won, CEO of Hybe commented, “with the business agreement made with the city of Busan as the foundation, we will propose cooperative measures in various fields and plan to actively cooperate for Busan’s bidding of the 2030 Busan World Expo, a business that is important on a national scale.”
Hybe and Busan City signed a business agreement to host the 2030 Busan World Expo on June 24th. Following this, BTS will carry out various promotional activities as appointed ambassadors.
