BTS made history as it was nominated for four categories at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA).
On July 27th, MTV announced the list of award categories which included “Best K-Pop”, “Best Metaverse Performance”, “Best Visual Effects” and “Best Choreography.”
It is not the first time for the group and already marks the fourth year BTS have been nominated. In 2019, BTS was nominated for the first VMA and won two awards, followed by four awards in 2020 with ‘Dynamite.’ Last year was also successful as the group were awarded in three categories including “Group of the Year”, “Best K-Pop” and “Song of the Summer.”
Competing with other K-pop artists such as Lisa from Blackpink, Seventeen, Itzy and Twice, BTS are soaring high on a global level.
‘MTV VMA' is a music awards ceremony hosted by MTV in the United States. It will be held live onAugust 29th (KST) at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
