Blackpink have officially announced that they will make a comeback on August 19th with their new song ‘Pink Venom’, which will be pre-released at 13:00 (KST).
The combination of the two words ‘pink’ and ‘venom’ symbolizes Blackpink, and brings across a strong message. The aura of the beautiful but fatal charm Blackpink holds is to be revealed in their new song.
In the 'Pink Venom' teaser poster, two large pink fangs drop down from the top of the image. The fangs of an unknown creature make it appear as though the creature is swallowing up something, leaving fans curious and excited for the upcoming release.
An official from YG said, "Today is the anniversary of Blackpink’s debut and we are happy to announce that the new song will be pre-released this month, which opens the prelude to the 'BORN PINK' project.”
Prior to today’s announcement, YG recently revealed that Blackpink's 'Born Pink' project had begun. The roadmap shows monthly release schedules: pre-release in August, music video for the full album and title song in September and the world tour in October.
The upcoming comeback of Blackpink is the first in a year and ten months. Additionally, as if to commemorate, the music videos for two of the group’s new songs have broken the record at YG for costing the most expensive for production.
Stay in tune for the return of the K-pop queens!
