Netflix movie 'Seoul Vibe’ (directed by Moon Hyeon-Seong) released character stills of the cast today. The all-star cast includes Yoo Ah-In, Go Kyung-Pyo, Lee Kyu-Hyung, Park Ju-Hyun and Ong Seong-wu.
‘Seoul Vibe’ is an action-packed blockbuster movie set in the streets of Seoul in 1988. It is about the drivers of the Sanggye-dong Supreme Team who become mired in the slush fund investigation of a powerful person on the very day of the 1988 Seoul Olympics opening ceremony.
The Sanggye-dong Supreme Team 'Bbang-ggu fam' forecasts solid teamwork and energy. First, Yoo Ah-In plays the role of Dong-Wook, who is a self-proclaimed “best drifter.” During an interview about his role, Yoo Ah-In described the character as “a sense of challenge” and “a friend who is full of dreams that represents the youth of the late 1980s.” Dong-Wook is sensitive to fashion and trends and is a youngster who dreams of competing in the world's largest racing competition with his outstanding driving skills. It is said that in order to express Dong-Wook, Yoo Ah-In devoted himself to driving training sessions before filming, as he wanted to fully immerse himself into the character and perform hardcore car action scenes.
Go Kyung-Pyo plays the role of ‘Woo-Sam’, who is a theology graduate working as a club DJ. He transforms into a spy during the mission.
Lee Kyu-Hyung plays ‘Bok-Nam’, a taxi driver, and is the eldest member of ‘Bbang-ku fam.’ He acts as the human navigation system that knows how to penetrate the smallest alleys and corner of Seoul.Director Moon Hyeon-Seong said, "I needed an actor with skills to harmonize and melt the strong personalities of each member of ‘Bbang-ku fam.’”
Park Ju-Hyun plays 'Yoon-Hee', who is Dong-Wook's younger sister and the president of the largest bike club in Seoul. Yoon-Hee is said to add a different kind of fun and color to the ‘Bbang-ku fam’ with unexpected transformations for each mission.
Lastly, Ong Seong-Wu plays 'Jun-Gi', who is the youngest of the fam. When interviewed about his role, Ong explained he joing the crew as it seemed like “an opportunity to show a new, hip and entertaining energy."
‘Seoul Vibe’ will be released worldwide on Netflix on August 26th so keep a look out!
