On October 25th, Kakao Entertainment released a trailer clip of the new upcoming drama ‘The Villainess is a Marionette’, which is the dramatized version of the popular Webtoon series. In the trailer, Cha Eun-Woo looked deadly and fierce as the male lead role as Duke Kidrey.
‘The Villainess is a Marionette’ is centered around Princess Kayena, who used to be a passive marionette doll-like figure controlled by her younger brother Les Jeff, but changes to a villainess to face her evil brother. Along the way, Kayena finds ways of fighting back her brother and partners with Duke Kidrey.
In the trailer, Cha Eun-Woo can be seen perfectly personified as a Duke from the Middle Ages. He says in his monologue, “the Princess has changed. The minute she moves, the world becomes chaos. I have also changed too. I did not like to be around anyone but why is it that when I am with her, I feel comfortable? My soul is now all yours, your Highness…”
Cha Eun-Woo began his journey with ‘The Villainess is a Marionette’ when he recorded the OST ‘Focus on Me’ earlier this year in February. Leading on from this synergy, Cha Eun-Woo placed himself with the male lead act in the drama. At the time of the release of ‘Focus on Me’, the single topped the iTunes top song chart in six regions, gaining popularity worldwide.
Recently, from July to September, Cha Eun-Woo held a fan meeting to meet global fans across five Asian countries. In the meantime, on November 16th, Cha Eun-Woo will be hitting the screens with his debut film ‘Decibel’, followed by the original TVing drama series ‘Island’ in December.
