On February 10th, Community Chest of Korea announced that Doyoung had donated 100 million KRW to help recovery of the Turkey-Syria earthquake. On February 6th, tens of thousands of people are thought to have been killed and thousands of others injured by a huge earthquake which struck south-eastern Turkey, near the Syrian border.

Doyoung said, “I wanted to give a little comfort to the people of Turkey and Syria who are suffering from the horrific earthquake.”

The donation will be used for humanitarian relief efforts, supporting the needs of those affected by the earthquake, including food kits, tents and blankets to the emergency shelters that have been set up in Turkey.

Doyoung has consistently practiced sharing and donating to those in need. Previously, the star donated 30 million KRW to aid the rescue and relief of the Gangwon-do forest fire recovery that occurred last year.

With this donation, Doyoung has become a member of the Honory Society of Community Chest of Korea, which is only honored to major donors. The Honory Society includes other celebrities such as Lee Soon-Jae, Lee Seo-Jin, Kim Woo-Bin, Park Bo-Young, Moon Geun-Young and Girls’ Generation Yoona.
