According to the Korea Expressway Corporation, an employee named ‘A’ had unauthorized access to RM's ticketing information for three years, since the year of 2019. RM’s personal details such as his home address and mobile phone number was also leaked.
On March 2nd, RM expressed his discontent on his Instagram story by posting a screenshot of the article and a sweating emoji “^^;;”, without further captions.
A’s unauthorized access was discovered in an internal audit of Korail. An employee reported that A had said, "I checked RM's reservation details and went to see him in person."
An official from KORAIL said, "We confirm that A misused their authority to access personal information without permission. We are still in the process of checking whether it has been leaked to any public sources.”
The KORAIL Audit Committee have removed A from their position and is undergoing disciplinary procedures. ‘A’ has confessed that it was only done out of personal interest and pure curiosity.
