On April 5th, BTS’ Jimin unveiled his first solo album showcase on the online platform 'Weverse.' He expressed to fans, "I prepared so hard for the album over a long course of time but it feels like the promotion period ended too quickly."
Last month on March 24th, Jimin released his first solo album ‘Face.’ Within just days of its release, Jimin topped the main single chart ‘Hot 100’ with his title track ‘Like Crazy.' This record made Jimin become the first Korean solo artist to rocket to the top of Billboard’s main chart. His title track ‘Like Crazy’ marked the 66th song in Billboard history to enter the ‘Hot 100’ chart and rocket straight to number one.
Jimin thanked fans on 'Weverse' by saying, "Army, this is so surreal I don’t know how to express my feelings and gratitude.” He continued, “I am lost for words but I know that this is all only possible because it’s BTS and because ARMYs always have our backs.”
‘Face’ is an album that tells the story of Jimin fully facing himself both as a human being and as a new solo artist. Jimin actively participated in the overall production of his debut solo album.
The total track list includes six tracks: 'Face-off', 'Interlude: Dive', 'Like Crazy' (title track), 'Alone', 'Set Me Free Part 2' (pre-released song) and 'Like Crazy' (English Version).
Jimin also expressed his future aspirations, saying, "I will not take anything for granted. I will continue to work hard and grow as an artist. I want to become an artist that all of you can be proud of.”
Finally, he conveyed his heartfelt feelings, saying, "I am proud to be a member of BTS. I hope we will be an eternal group. The emotions for my fellow members is beyond love.”
Jimin has proved his ability as an all-rounder artist. 'Face' sold out 1.02 million copies in just the first day of release, breaking the record on Hanteo Chart as the first K-pop solo artist to become a million seller on the first day of release. During the first week, album sales exceeded 1.45 million which set a new record for the highest solo debut album sales.
