‘BTS’ Jimin proved his popularity in Japan.
The Japan Record Association said on April 12, Jimin recorded more than 250,000 cumulative local shipments with his solo album 'Face'.
Jimin has obtained Platinum certification (as of March). This year, he became the first K-pop solo artist to receive platinum certification.
Earlier, he won three gold medals in Japan's Oricon ‘Weekly Music Ranking’. He won the ‘Weekly Combined Album Ranking’, ‘Weekly Digital Album Ranking’, and ‘Weekly Album Ranking’. It reached second place in the ‘Monthly Album Ranking’.
It is gaining global popularity. The title song ‘Like Crazy’ went straight to No.1 on the U.S. Billboard's main single chart ‘Hot 100’ (April 8).
It is the first time that a K-pop solo artist has topped the ‘Hot 100’ list for the first time. Also ranked second on ‘Billboard 200’.
It was the highest ranking among K-pop solo artists.
‘Face’ is an album about Jimin preparing for a new start. He expressed his sincere feelings during the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years.
