by. soobyn Park

Moonbin, a member of boy group Astro, was found dead at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on April 19th. The K-pop star’s death was confirmed by the group’s manager when the manager could not get in touch with him and visited Moonbin’s home to check on him, where he found the star dead.

A friend of Moonbin told ‘Dispatch’, "He was motivated again when touring the world. He was determined to overcome the difficulties.”

Last month, Moonbin began touring domestically and continued his world tour. On April 8th, Moonbin visited Bangkok in Thailand and was scheduled to meet fans in Tokyo, Osaka and other cities in Asia next month.

After the Bangkok concert earlier this month, Moonbin shared his thoughts and reflections with fans. He said, "I was not feeling very well, but I am okay now." He also apologized for being difficult to approach and promised to work hard to make a recovery and make fans happy.

Fellow member of Astro's Cha Eun-Woo is currently in the US but upon hearing the news of Moonbin’s sudden passing, he will be returning to Korea as soon as possible. Other members of Astro have been reported to be deeply shocked.

Currently, the police are investigating the exact cause of his death. The funeral will be held at Seoul Asan Hospital, and the funeral procession will take place on April 22nd.
