"I dream of a future where the seven of us are together until the day we die.”
On April 24th, BTS’ Suga expressed his affection for his fellow BTS members during a conversation with RM on YouTube channel ‘Suchwita.’ On the channel, Suga appeared as a guest as RM was the MC for this day. Suga introduced himself as his solo stage name ‘Agust D’ and announced two days until the drop of his solo album ‘D-Day.’
RM asked Suga, "What is your dream?" To this, Suga replied, "I dream of a future where the sevenof us are together until the day we die.” Suga continued, “the members are like family and brothers to me. I feel most comfortable around the members.” Suga continued, "I don't know how much longer we will be together in the future, but I hope BTS will be a group until we become grandfathers."
'D-Day' marks the end of the 'Agust D trilogy', following Suga's previously released mixtapes (non-regular albums) 'Agust D' (2016) and 'D-2' (2020). Suga reportedly took the lead in producing the album as well as writing the lyrics and composition for all songs.
The track list includes a total of 10 tracks: D-Day, Haegeum, HUH?! (feat. J-Hope), AMYGDALA, SDL, Person Pt.2 (feat. IU), Geukya, Interlude: Dawn, Snooze (feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kim Woo-Sung of The Rose) and Life Goes On.
The title track, ‘Haegeum’, is a song that uses the sound of the traditional Korean string instrument Haegeum, which is also referenced in the title and lyrics. Previously, Suga used the Haegeum sound in one of his songs titled ‘Daechwita’ from his second mixtape 'D-2.’ The lyrics from ‘Haegeum’ are thought-provoking such as, “free from the banned”, “it’s comfort with your eyes closed everything is obvious” and “don’t be swept away by the tsunami of information.”
In the meantime, Suga is prepping for his solo world tour as soloist Agust D. Starting in New York this coming April 26th and 27th, he will follow on to meet ARMYs across the world.
