BTS' Suga has set a new record with his newly released solo album ‘D-DAY’ as it reached no.2 on Billboard’s main album chart ‘Billboard 200.’
On May 2nd, Billboard released an online chart preview article stating, "Suga's first solo album 'D-DAY' sold 140,000 copies and climbed to second place on the chart this week."
This makes Suga the highest ranking Korean solo artist to have achieved a position on Billboard, along with his fellow BTS member Jimin.
Last month, Jimin’s solo album ‘Face’ reached no.2 on Billboard 200, which was the highest record for a Korean solo artist at the time.
The Billboard 200 chart is based on the cumulative number of physical album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
Suga's physical album sales sold out 122,000 copies. The streaming and download equivalent albums were 12,500 and 5,500 respectively.
‘D-DAY’ is the finale solo album of Suga's trilogy, which follows his mixtapes ‘Agust D’ (2016) and ‘D-2’ (2020).
The track list includes a total of 10 tracks: D-Day, Haegeum, HUH?! (feat. J-Hope), AMYGDALA, SDL, Person Pt.2 (feat. IU), Geukya, Interlude: Dawn, Snooze (feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kim Woo-Sung of The Rose) and Life Goes On.
In the meantime, Suga has successfully kicked off his first solo world tour. On April 26th and 27th, Suga held a concert in New York and New Jersey, titled ‘Suga’s Agust D D-Day Tour.’
