Girls' Generation's Sunny is embarking on a new beginning in a new environment as she departs from SM Entertainment after 16 years.

On the 8th, Sunny posted on her SNS, saying, "Along with my gratitude for the 16th-anniversary of Girls' Generation's debut, I have something to share."

First, she expressed her gratitude to many people throughout the 16 years, including the members, family, staff, and fans. 

She also acknowledged the end of her contract with SM Entertainment, thanking them for their help in allowing 19-year-old Lee Soon-kyu to debut as Girls' Generation's Sunny.

She extended her appreciation to the managers who were with her through thick and thin and all the employees who helped showcase good music and performances.

Sunny shared her happiness for meeting her fellow members and fans (SONE) as Girls' Generation and expressed her gratitude for the support and love from the fans and those who are dear to her.

She revealed her determination for a new start, saying, "Now, I will gather the courage to see myself from a different perspective in the new environment."

She emphasized that she will continue moving forward with her lively and characteristic self, and promised to share many good news in the future.

Sunny made her debut in the music industry with Girls' Generation in August 2007. They achieved instant success with their debut song 'Into the New World' and went on to create numerous hit songs such as 'Gee,' 'Oh!,' 'Tell Me Your Wish (Genie),' 'Run Devil Run,' 'Hoot,' and 'I Got a Boy.' On the 5th, they celebrated their 16th debut anniversary.
