BTS' V took to Instagram Stories to praise Danielle's cover.
NewJeans' Danielle posted a video titled 'V - Rainy Days Cover By DANIELLE' on YouTube on August 30.
Danielle, who started the video with a brief self-introduction, recalled her memories and said, "Today, I'm going to sing 'Rainy Days' by V. I remember the first time I heard it."
"All five of us were gathered together for a meeting with the CEO [Min Hee Jin]. We listened to every song from our albums, and then the CEO told us, 'We're currently preparing for V's album. Do you want to listen to those songs too?' So we eagerly said 'Yes!' and listened with lots of excitement," the singer recalled.
"After listening to 'Rainy Days,' the song resonated with me so much, so as soon as I heard it, it brought me back to a rainy day from my childhood where I would sit by the window and look outside."
Before Danielle covered the song, she said, "I heard the song and wanted to cover it. Girls also told me all the tracks were so beautiful and covering them would be so fun. But I have never been in love, and there were lyrics that were difficult to fully understand. I will try to express the emotions and atmosphere that I felt when I listened to the song."
The singer added, "I've also listened to V's title song. The title song is also really good. You won't be disappointed."
Fans who heard Danielle's cover of 'Rainy Days' praised her refreshing and clear voice. Even BTS V, the original songwriter, acknowledged the cover song. V posted a video of Danielle's cover on his social media page. He added another story where she spoke about listening to the title track Slow Dancing and captioned it, "How did it sound? Tell me in a bit more detail about it". Later, he went on a live video session and reacted to the cover. As he appreciated it so much, he gave an thumbs up.

Meanwhile, V's first solo album 'Layover' will be released on September 8 at 9:30 am (KST). This album will contain a total of five tracks, including the pre-released songs 'Rainy Days' and 'Love Me Again', 'Blue', 'For Us', and the title song 'Slow Dancing'.
