by. Kim jiwon

BLACKPINK has set another incredible record with their world tour.

On September 17, BLACKPINK successfully concluded their world tour 'BORN PINK' with a finale concert in Seoul. 1.8 million people attended the tour, which is the largest audience for a K-pop girl group.

According to Koreaboo on Tuesday (September 19), the total sales amount of BLACKPINK raked in 350 billion KRW (about 265 million USD) across their tour. As for revenue, the group earned 217 billion KRW (about 163.8 million USD), making them the highest-grossing tour by a female artist debuting in the 2010s.

With their world tour Born Pink, BLACKPINK was known to earn the highest revenue among female artist tours including Ariana Grande's 'Sweetener Tour'.

BLACKPINK is the third female singer to achieve a sold-out at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey during their concert in North America, following Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Additionally, BLACKPINK is the fourth female singer to headline Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, following Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and Pink.

According to YG Entertainment on September 20, Blackpink's 'Born Pink' tour drew crowds of 1.8 million people across 34 cities worldwide for 66 shows over the span of a year from last October. The group set a record as the first K-pop girl group to enter the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, the largest indoor performance hall in Korea.

In addition, BLACKPINK also became the first K-pop girl group to enter Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Oracle Park in San Francisco, and Dodger Stadium in LA.

With Blackpink driving the global music market beyond K-pop, there has been much attention paid to whether YG Entertainment will renew the group's contract.
