Five members of the boy band PENTAGON have decided to end their exclusive contracts with Cube Entertainment.
On October 9, Cube Entertainment stated, "We had a long and honest conversation with PENTAGON members ahead of their exclusive contracts expiring. After careful discussion, we have ended the exclusive contracts with Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok."
"To Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok who have been with us for 7 long years, we would like to express my deepest gratitude," it added. "Please give your warm encouragement and support to PENTAGON's Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok, who are at the new starting line."
In his handwritten letter, Yeo One explained his reason for not renewing his contract, saying, "a new challenge was needed to show a better side to Universe (PENTAGON's fanbase name)."
He added, "Even though I am saying goodbye to CUBE Entertainment, I will always be with Universe as a member of PENTAGON, just like now," he wrote in Korean.
Meanwhile, PENTAGON debuted in 2016. After Dawn left, the group consisted of 9 members. The band was loved for refreshing songs such as 'Shine' and 'Naughty Boy'.
