On November 1, tvN announced that Jo Jung-suk and Shin Se-kyung have been cast as the lead actors in its upcoming drama 'Sejak.'
'Sejak' is a historical romance drama that depicts the cruel fate of King Lee In and Kang Hee-su. Jo Jung-suk played the role of King Lee In. Out of loyalty to his older brother Lee Seon, he was taken hostage by the Qing Dynasty but he is misunderstood as having a traitorous mind.
Shin Se-kyung plays Kang Hee-soo. She is a sejak (spy) who tries to seduce the King and get revenge. While working as a baduk player, she meets Lee In and falls in love with him.
Lee Shin-young plays Kim Myeong-ha, the son of Kim Jong-bae, the Minister of War. Park Ye-young plays the role of a court lady who is surrounded by secrets.
'The Good Detective' director Jo Nam-kook and the legendary writer known for 'The Crowned Clown' Kim Seon-deok are teaming up together.
Meanwhile, 'Sejak' is scheduled to air for the first time in January next year.
