YG Removes Profiles of G-Dragon and Taeyang While Remaining BLACKPINK's
by. Kim jiwon

Recently, YG Entertainment removed G-Dragon and Taeyang's profiles from their official website introduction section.

YG Entertainment's exclusive contract with G-Dragon, who debuted as a member of BIGBANG in 2006, expired in June. Taeyang, who also debuted as a member of BIGBANG, signed an exclusive contract with The Black Label, a label under YG Entertainment, in December last year.

The profiles of all BLACKPINK members who have already expired contracts, however, have been maintained, despite no confirmation as to whether or not the contracts will be renewed.

BLACKPINK is arguably one of YG's most successful acts. The company's shares went on a wild ride when members of the girl group were due to renew their contracts.

In spite of various speculations, such as members leaving YG Entertainment to establish their own agencies while maintaining the group, no definitive confirmation has been made regarding the contract renewal as yet.

Although it was expected that YG Entertainment would address uncertainties related to the BLACKPINK contract renewal in their third-quarter disclosure, there was no mention of any specific details regarding the contract renewal.

Meanwhile, the members - Rosé, Jennie, Jisoo and Lalisa - were presented with honorary Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) during the state visit to the UK.
