Singer and actress Kim Sejeong is set to make her first foray into theater.
Starting from December 15th, Kim Sejeong will take on the title role in the play 'Temple,' which will be held at Sogang University's Arts Center, Scone 1 Hall, located in Seoul's Daehangno district.
'Temple' revolves around the character Dr. Temple Grandin, a world-renowned animal scientist who, despite having autism spectrum disorder, became a leading figure in the field. The play is based on Dr. Grandin's real-life experiences during her school days.
One notable feature of 'Temple' is its physical theatre aspect. It goes beyond conventional dialogue and emphasizes the use of body movements to convey information, requiring actors to utilize body language to express the characters' emotions and states effectively.
Kim Sejeong will take on the role of Temple Grandin, a character who overcomes autism by embracing her own world. Kim Sejeong plans to showcase innovative attempts rather than adhering to conventional theatrical formats.
She has already prepared extensively for the role, expressing her determination through her agency: "Through continuous character research, I will convincingly portray the character's narrative."
Recently, Kim Sejeong successfully concluded her global tour, '2023 Kim Sejeong 1st Concert Tour The Moon.' Currently, she is also serving as a judge on the SBS-TV audition program 'Universe Ticket.'
