Having admitted to battling gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), Nam Woohyun continues his active endeavors after making a comeback.
On the 28th, Nam Woohyun's agency revealed, "He underwent surgery for GIST in April, and now he is in good health. Recently, he received a follow-up examination, and we heard that the surgery was successful. We plan to manage his health regularly through continuous follow-up examinations."
Nam Woohyun is set to appear on this week's music shows such as KBS's 'Music Bank,' MBC's 'Show! Music Core,' and SBS's 'Inkigayo,' continuing his promotions for the solo regular album 'WHITREE.'
The agency stated, "He plans to appear on music shows for about two weeks. During that time, he will also handle radio schedules. We are considering other possible appearances on different shows."
Nam Woohyun confessed about his battle with GIST during a commemorative interview for his first solo regular album 'WHITREE,' released on the 23rd. GIST is a type of cancer that occurs in the muscle layer of the stomach.
Having discovered the tumor through a health examination two years ago, he decided to undergo surgery upon learning from medical professionals that it could grow up to 15cm. After approximately 10 hours of surgery, he has been actively participating in INFINITE's group activities and preparing for his solo album.
Reflecting on his recovery, Nam Woohyun expressed, "I won't be able to sing like before. It's said to be three to four times more difficult. When dancing and singing, it's hard to catch my breath."
Meanwhile, Nam Woohyun officially released his first solo regular album 'WHITREE' at 6 PM on the same day, marking the beginning of his full-fledged comeback activities. The title track, 'Baby Baby,' is a song characterized by a lively melody and Nam Woohyun's lyrical vocals.
