On the 5th, Netflix released stills for Part 1 of the original series 'Kyungsung Creature' (written by Kang Eun-kyung, directed by Jung Dong-yoon). The stills compress the gloomy atmosphere of Kyungsung in 1945.

The stills are dualistic, capturing the romantic mood of the era and the secretive, eerie spaces, as well as the various characters living within them.

Firstly, they depict the splendid daily life of Jang Tae-sang (played by Park Seo-joon), the owner of the largest inn in Kyungsung. With his handsome appearance and bold personality, he attracts attention wherever he goes.

The stills also show a two-shot of Yoon Chae-ok (played by Han So-hee), a professional fortune teller, and Yoon Jung-won (played by Jo Han-chul). They join forces with Jang Tae-sang to find the missing lover of Ishikawa before the cherry blossoms fall.

The stills also foreshadow the struggles of the youth, as Tae-sang and Chae-ok infiltrate Ongseong Hospital, suspected to be the last whereabouts of the missing person. There, the two encounter a hidden secret.

Director Jung focused on the dual aspects of characters and spaces. He stated, "The spring of 1945, the time we set, created questions about the direction of each character."

Writer Kang hinted, "Whether survival comes first or living as a human comes first, the meaning changes depending on which side you stand on, such as the distinction between good and evil."

After reading the script, the actors shared their thoughts. Park Seo-joon commented, "It's a perfect script," and Han So-hee admired it, saying, "It's a script that makes you curious about the beginning of the story."

An official stated, "It contains a vivid and diverse human landscape in a glamorous and dark turbulent era," and urged anticipation for the unique story of the meeting between historical and creature elements.

'Kyungsung Creature' is a thriller action series set in spring 1945 in Kyungsung. It tells the story of two youths who, in a time where survival was everything, confront a monster born out of greed.

'Kyungsung Creature' Part 1 will be released on Netflix on the 22nd, followed by Part 2 unveiling on January 5, 2024.
