According to the police and fire department, Lee Sun-kyun was found collapsed inside a vehicle on the street in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the same day. At the time of discovery, Lee Sun-kyun was unconscious, and the fire department, responding to the police's joint request, estimated that Lee Sun-kyun had passed away around 10:30 a.m. that day. The police are investigating the circumstances, considering the possibility of extreme choices.

Later, the agency also conveyed the news of the deceased's death. The funeral hall for the deceased was set up at Seoul National University Hospital. Since October, Lee Sun-kyun had been under police investigation for allegations of using marijuana and ketamine at the residence of entertainment establishment manager A in Seoul. The police summoned Lee Sun-kyun three times on October 28, November 4, and three times this month for questioning.

On the day before the second summons, on the 3rd, the results of a precise examination of Lee Sun-kyun's body received from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation were negative, as confirmed by a preliminary urine reagent test. During the second questioning, Lee Sun-kyun stated that he unknowingly took drugs, believing them not to be narcotics, and denied any deliberate intent in the offense.

In addition, Lee Sun-kyun accused A and two others of extortion, claiming they took 350 million won from them, and filed a complaint against them for the offense of coercion.
