BTS V, New Record with 2.2 Billion Streams

The 'military break' ain't got nothing on him. V of BTS has set a new record on the global music charts.

Spotify released its latest chart on Tuesday. V was streamed 2.2 billion times in total. The record is based on a solo song registered on V's Spotify profile.

The total number of hits is a result of 18 songs combined. These include songs from V's solo album "Layover," V's solo song from the BTS album, drama OSTs, self-composed song, and the collaboration song "Wherever you are."

"Layover" was the hottest. It has been played more than 1.1 billion times in total. Its title track, "Slow Dancing," surpassed 292 million times, and its pre-released track, "Love Me Again," reached 389 million.

This song is so popular that it just never stops streaming. "Love Me Again" has become the most streamed solo song of V's career. It is the 11th highest record among K-pop solo songs ever.

Meanwhile, V joined the military in December last year. He completed the boot camp process with excellent performance, being awarded as the top 4 trainees out of a total of 800.

V applied to the special commission (SDT) of the Army Military Police Corps. V will serve in the military police unit under the command of the Army 2nd Corps.
