Kim Seon-ho, "Mental Care by Walking 6 Hours a Day... Few Recognizes Me" (by PDC)

After a two-year hiatus due to personal controversies, actor Kim Seon-ho made a comeback last year with the movie 'The Childe' and has since been active in both dramas and theater productions, updating fans on his recent activities.

Recently, a video titled "Actor Kim Seon-ho's Commute to Daehangno" was uploaded on the 'by PDC' channel. In the video, Kim Seon-ho was seen walking along the riverside near his house, making his way to Daehangno where theater performances take place.

On that day, Kim Seon-ho commented, "I wanted to show a more ordinary and comfortable side of myself, but it feels a bit awkward," laughing. He continued, "I've been busy filming two dramas and participating in two theater performances, so I didn't have much time. Actually, other senior actors and cast members have many hobbies, but I don't have any, so I'm worried. Walking is my only hobby."

He went on to say, "I walke for an hour to Daehangno, spend three hours at the gym, and then walk back home for another hour. I exercise for about six hours a day. If I don't do this, I just end up lying down at home, and if I do that, my mental health deteriorates. So walking like this is a big help for me."

When asked by the PDC production team if people recognize him while walking, Kim Seon-ho replied, "Some people do recognize me, but they don't usually approach me. Sometimes people ask for photos," and he added, "It feels awkward because it's been a while since I did this kind of filming."

He then candidly shared, "As an actor, when I stand in front of people as a character, I have a mindset of 'that's acting,' but when I stand in front of the camera as Kim Seon-ho, not as a character, I become overly self-conscious or shy."

Kim Seon-ho, who was loved on KBS 2TV's entertainment show '1 Night 2 Days,' reminisced, saying, "I showed the high-energy Kim Seon-ho. When the camera was rolling, I felt like I was putting on another character named 'Kim Seon-ho.' The '1 Night 2 Days' writer once said, 'If you like it, like it; if you don't, don't. You have to react well.' So I always tried harder to do whatever was asked of me."

In the busy year of 2023, Kim Seon-ho appeared in films such as 'The Childe' and 'The Tyrant,' as well as dramas 'In the Net,' and a special appearance in 'You Have Done Well.'

Reflecting on his relentless schedule, Kim Seon-ho said, "I really didn't take a break. One day, my manager said, 'We haven't taken a day off for several months.' I worked without taking a break, but surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I realized I have to work. Even taking a two-week break is difficult for me."

Kim Seon-ho then shared his plans for the day, saying, "Today, I have a 2 p.m. performance of the play 'Finding Happiness,' so I'm heading (to Daehangno)."

Regarding his acting career, Kim Seon-ho said, "I'm 28 now. I started theater in 2009. I began to think about what kind of actor I want to be and what kind of performances I want to do. Meeting good senior actors and actresses made me a better actor. Actually, I wasn't good at acting. I couldn't do much back then. Those people helped me a lot."

He expressed gratitude towards his co-star Nam Joo-hyuk, with whom he appeared in the tvN drama 'Start-Up,' saying, "People are important to me. I happened to meet Nam Joo-hyuk, who co-starred in the tvN drama 'Start-Up,' and I remember him suddenly hugging me without saying a word. At that moment (although he's younger), I felt like he was an older brother. It was nice."

Kim Seon-ho expressed his gratitude towards the 'Start-Up' production team, with whom he still maintains a connection, saying, "The director came to see the play, and so did the writer. I am awfully grateful."

He also mentioned his previous works, saying, "The same goes for other works. I met the director of 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,' and it was so fun and fulfilling."

Currently starring in the play 'Finding Happiness,' Kim Seon-ho greeted fans with their support.

Taking a commemorative selfie with actor Lim Chul-soo, with whom he shared the stage for the last performance, Kim Seon-ho expressed his admiration, saying, "Lim Chul-soo and I resemble each other. I've never seen him angry. When he said, 'Getting angry is an easy choice,' it struck a chord with me. I want to be like him."
