'Producer of SEVENTEEN' Bumzu, Highest Earning Producer

Bumzu, the producer of SEVENTEEN, received the most copyright fees last year. It won first place by beating Pdogg, the producer of BTS.

The Korea Music Copyright Association held the 10th KOMCA Copyright Awards on the 26th. The organizers said, "The producer category won the grand prize in both the mainstream songwriting and mainstream composition categories."

The association awards the grand prize to the lyricists and composers who received the most copyright fees in each category over the previous year. In 2024, the KOMCA Copyright Award was given to Bumzu.

This stopped the solo race of Pdogg. Pdogg has been the winner in the category for five consecutive years since 2019. However, it was Bumzu that made it to the podium this year.

Bumzu is signed under Pledis Entertainment. It produced songs by artists including SEVENTEEN and NU'EST. Last year, he wrote the hit song "Super" by SEVENTEEN.

In the popular arrangement category, composer Cho Young-soo won the grand prize for the fourth consecutive year. Songwriter Lee Sang-hee won the grand prize for the fourth consecutive year and composer Yiruma won the grand prize for classical music for the third consecutive year.

The Korean traditional music category went to Han Tae-soo, who composed "Beautiful Country." Lim Young-woong's "Our Blues, Our Life" was the song that received the highest copyright fees in music streaming.

Singer Cho Yong-pil was named in the KOMCA Hall of Fame. The category selects musicians who have made outstanding achievements in the music copyright industry every year.

Lee Jin-ho (pure field), a lyricist of the military song "The Wonderful Man", Park Beom-hoon (traditional Korean music field), and Kim Sook-kyung (dongyo field) who wrote "Here" also received awards.

Singer Yoon Hang-ki, broadcaster Lim Baek-cheon, and Kim Hyun-joo received the Music Culture Development Award.
