Queen of Tears, 'A Global Syndrome'

Netflix announced the global top 10 series (non-English) category rankings (March 25th to 31st) on the 3rd. 'Queen of Tears' ranked first. It has proven to be a global syndrome.

'Queen of Tears' was first released on March 9th. Since then, cumulative viewing time worldwide has reached 93.8 million hours.

According to the global OTT content ranking service 'Flix Patrol', including English and non-English TV series, 'Queen of Tears' ranked in the top 10 in 68 countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, India, Greece, and Turkey.

Major overseas media outlets are also highlighting the global craze. On the 29th of last month, TIME magazine introduced, "'Queen of Tears' is a fresh and worth-watching K-romance that breaks old conventions."

The media analyzed the reasons for its popularity, saying, "It is a drama that twists what is commonly expected from K-dramas and takes a fresh approach. It mixes genres to create freshness. It combines familiar and novel elements."

Meanwhile, 'Queen of Tears' is the story of Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Jiwon), the heir of the Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-woo (played by Kim Soohyun), the son of the head of Yongduri. It depicts the crisis and love of a couple in their third year of marriage.

The average viewer rating for the last 8 episodes recorded a percentage of 16.1%. Yoon Eun-seong (Park Sunghoon) brought down the Queens family. Baek Hyun-woo announced a counterattack. Episode 9 will be broadcast on the 6th at 9:20PM.
