In an episode of SBS's variety show, Kim Hye-yoon revealed her struggles with burnout and the impact of negative comments on her mental health.
Despite her popularity, Kim Hye-yoon shared that she frequently uses public transportation. When asked how she manages without being recognized, she explained, "Most people are busy on their phones, so they don't notice me," adding that she lives close to the filming locations. She has been living independently since she was twenty and enjoys wine, beer, and makgeolli occasionally. She joked about her cooking habits, saying, "I usually order snacks for delivery and only cook instant noodles at home. It's a miracle if I even manage to eat something from the fridge."
During the show, Yoo Jae-suk mentioned that he preferred quieter places as he got older. Kim Hye-yoon agreed, saying she doesn't like crowded places because it makes conversation difficult. She revealed her MBTI personality type is ISFJ, which caught the attention of the hosts.
When asked if she anticipated the popularity of her dramas, Kim Hye-yoon admitted she was surprised by the attention. Her sister, who works an office job, also reacted to her drama for the first time, sending her real-time screenshots and comments during the broadcast.
Regarding reading real-time comments about her dramas, Kim Hye-yoon said, "I was curious at first and read a few, but now I just skim through them. Negative comments do hurt, so I avoid looking for them." In response, Yoo Yeon-seok shared his approach, stating, "I read all comments. There can't always be only positive ones." Kim Hye-yoon then asked Yoo Yeon-seok how he deals with stress from acting, revealing her own experiences with burnout. "I sometimes feel exhausted and drained," she said.
Yoo Yeon-seok advised finding hobbies outside of acting to help with relaxation. "Engaging in hobbies I enjoy helps me heal. Even when I'm not filming, it's hard to clear my mind completely," he shared. Yoo Jae-suk humorously interjected, "Is this an actor-to-actor conversation? Should I stay out of it? If the talk gets boring, I just close my mouth," making everyone laugh.
