WWD KOREA has released the cover of its July issue with TWICE's Nayeon.
TWICE's Nayeon, who returned with her mini album "NA" on the 14th of this month, showed off a vintage feminine gothcore look that reverses her usual image.
Inspired by Nayeon's confident and independent attitude, the pictorial is reminiscent of the early 2000s pop diva vibe that she showcased in the title track "ABCD," and is said to have aroused the admiration of the staff on site.
In an interview after the photo shoot, Nayeon said, "I wanted to differentiate myself from my first solo album, so I prepared a completely different concept. It's a style I've always wanted to try, so I'm very satisfied with it," she said, revealing her strong attachment to her second solo album in nearly two years.
When asked which song he had the best chemistry with on the album, which featured collaborations with various musicians such as Kiss of Life's Julie and Acme's Lee Chan-hyuk, he replied, "Every song is special because I worked with musicians I've always wanted to work with, but if I had to pick one, it would be the track 'Magic' with Kiss of Life's Julie. It's a song where female vocals and rap harmonise with each other, and the synergy shines through."
When asked to reflect on the past 10 years of continuous development as TWICE and Nayeon, Nayeon said, "The meaning of the number 10 is special and heavy. When I look back on the past 10 years, there are some regrets, but I don't regret anything. "Especially as the years go by, I realise that the members are important to me and that I have a special bond with them," she said, revealing her affection for the members of TWICE.
Finally, Nayeon said, "This summer is even more special. We don't have many opportunities to meet and talk to our fans face-to-face, so we want to make sure we don't miss a single moment this summer and make lots of beautiful memories with them," Nayeon said, revealing her special affection for her fans.
