The film 'Harbin' (directed by Woo Min-ho) will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
"'Harbin' has been officially invited to the Gala Presentation section of the 49th Toronto International Film Festival. It will have its world premiere."
"We are thrilled to be able to bring this remarkable portrayal of a historical story to its world premiere," said Executive Committee Chair Cameron Bailey.
Senior Programmer Anita Lee added: "The cinematography, acting, and narrative are all beautifully crafted, and I was impressed by the way the real-life events were portrayed."
The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the world's four major film festivals, along with the Cannes Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, and Venice International Film Festival.
Harbin will have its world premiere at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival, which opens on 5 September. Through the world premiere, the film will meet domestic and international audiences.
The film's lead actors, including Hyun Bin, Park Jeongmin, Cho Woo Jin, Jeon Yeo Been, and Park Hoon, are yet to be confirmed. However, due to the nature of the gala presentation, they are likely to walk the red carpet.
The gala presentation section of the Toronto International Film Festival has featured a number of Korean films in the past. Last year alone, 'Smugglers' and 'Concrete Utopia' were invited.
Harbin is an espionage drama. It tells the story of a breathtaking chase between those heading to Harbin for a single purpose and those chasing them.
