Byun Woo-seok "Popularity now, it feels like I'm dreaming"

Fashion magazine ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ has released some cuts from its July issue pictorial with actor Byun Woo-seok.

The meeting between ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ and Byun Woo-seok received a lot of attention with four covers and colorful videos. The five newly released photos show the results. A variety of charms were revealed, from cuts that revealed a refreshing boyish look with a hot pink colored shirt, rain boots, and a striped t-shirt to cuts with a chic expression in an all-black look. In particular, the languid pose on the sofa wearing an argyle pattern knit and denim shorts will be enough to capture the hearts of fans. The pictorial is a whopping 27 pages.

In an interview following the filming, Byun Woo-seok said about his current popularity, “It’s definitely not a dream, but it feels like I’m dreaming. So many people recognize me as a person, look at me deeply, and even like me more than that. “I wonder if I will ever have another moment like this in my life.”

After receiving the script for the last episode of ‘Lovely Runner,’ he cried alone because he didn’t want to part with the work. “There were so many beautiful scenes in episode 16. Sol and Seonjae were obviously happy, but I was so sad that I cried. I think it was only after reading the script that I realized it was over. I guess I liked Seonjae too much. I finally got my mind together and called the writer, and he said he felt the same way. I'm feeling that way because I don't want to let Seonjae go through this drama. I will also do other works in the future. But I don’t think I’ll let Seonjae go. Whenever I miss Seonjae, I will always pick up the drama and watch it again. “I want to never forget you and have you as a friend by my side forever.”

He also told us why he was able to endure the nine years since his debut as an actor in 2016. “For a long time, I kept failing at auditions and got criticized a lot (laughs). I also had doubts that this was not the path. It was hard. They say you need to work in any field for 10 years. So I think I decided to just do it for 10 years. But if not, then let’s leave without any regrets. “With that mindset, I kept holding on.” “I have always supported myself. There were many times when I was so upset that I cried on the subway coming back from an audition. At times like this, I thought to myself like this. You can do it, Wooseok. You've worked with so many models. The opportunity will come someday. You are a good person. So believe in yourself. I'm not a fatalist, but I believe that someone is there for a reason. What I felt during the interview was that I am a very lucky person. At the same time, I also feel proud. “I guess I lived hard,” he replied.

Byun Woo-seok’s pictorial and interview can be seen in the July issue of ‘Harper’s Bazaar.’
