Actor Lee Do-hyun will star in the third season of the Netflix series Sweet Home.
Netflix released a teaser poster and teaser trailer for the third season of "Sweet Home" on 21st. The visuals for the series finale hinted at changes to the story and characters.
The posters were intense. First, Hyun-Soo (Song Kang) spreads his monster wings. Scratched concrete walls and shattered building fragments are visible.
"Look forward to seeing if he can regain his human self after being consumed by the monster in Season 2," the representative said.
Season 3 will feature monsters, specially infected people, and rookies. "The phrase 'the final confrontation to protect everyone' hints at Hyun-soo's choice," the insider said.
The trailer was tense. Sang-wook (played by Lee Jin-wook) and a group of his followers have come to the stadium, the home of the survivors, and unlike in the past, they want to make accommodations for the sick.
Survivors Eun-yoo (Go Minsi) and Chan-young (Jin-young) are confronted with a brutal reality. In the stadium, which is no longer safe, and in the outside world, which is still full of monsters, they are chased and hunted by monsters.
A new being, Shinryu, has been born. People have been sucked into a mysterious cocoon, and the camera captures images of cocoons hanging everywhere.
Hyunsoo expressed his determination. "I'll get them out somehow, and this time I'll really kill them," he spat out in a low voice. Behind him was Eun-hyeok (played by Lee Do-hyun), who died in season one.
The series premiered in 2020. Season 1 was hailed as a well-made K-creature. It became the first Korean drama to reach the top 10 on Netflix in the US.
Season two was a bust. It expanded its worldview to include humans living in the midst of a prolonged monsterisation crisis. However, it was criticised for slowing down in the middle and lacking thrills.
Season 3 is set to wrap up the story from the first season. It will tell the story of the birth of a new species, and the struggle of those who walk the line between monster and human.
Season 3 of "Sweet Home" will be released on Netflix on the 19th of next month.
