"Jinny's Kitchen 2" is open for business. This time, they're going to Iceland to try their hand at making a goat soup business.
The new tvN show "Jinny's Kitchen 2" held an online production presentation on the morning of the 28th. PD Na Young Suk, Lee Seo Jin, Jung Yumi, Park Seo Jun, Edward Choi, and Go Minsi participated in the pre-recording.
"Jinny's Kitchen 2" is a franchise restaurant that succeeds "Yoon Sikjang". It depicts a successful Korean restaurant run by a boss and employees who are serious about gomtang.
"Jinny's Kitchen 2" was successfully opened in Bacalar, Mexico last year. It captivated the taste buds of the local audience and achieved a peak viewership rating of 14.5 per cent.
Lee Seo Jin will reprise his role as the boss from last season. Jung Yumi, Park Seo Jun, and Edward Choi are the employees of Ttukbae Gijip. Go Minsi will appear as an intern.
PD Na Young-seok shared his excitement ahead of the premiere, saying, "I had a great time filming with my trusted crew who have been working together for so long."
"We have a new character named Go Minsi. I am confident that we will be able to showcase gentle changes and fun for viewers."
The second restaurant is called 'Seojin Mulbaegi'. It is the first Korean restaurant in Iceland. It appeals to locals with its warm soup in the cold winter. It also offers a variety of menus.
"There is not a single Korean restaurant in Iceland that is run by Koreans," says Na PD. We opened this restaurant because our programme is partly about introducing Korean food to foreign countries."
"The owner, Lee Seo-jin, has a special love for megamtang, so I wanted to make his dream come true," he laughs.
"It was hard because there were so many customers," Lee recalls, "We didn't expect to make a profit, and it was a cold place, so we had the mindset of doing well for the few customers who came."
But unexpectedly, they hit the jackpot: "I got greedy when the profit peaked, and then I saw how much money I made. Money is everything," he laughs.
New this time around is the Chef of the Day. Each chef will take turns in the kitchen. The menu of the day will also be slightly different.
"This time, not only me but also the staff were greedy. I didn't force them to do it, but I told them to work harder and take more breaks," he says behind the scenes.
Park Seo Jun said, "I had a lot of fun because the roles changed every day," adding, "I've been thinking about the second act of my life, and I feel like I could live with a different job."
This season, Go Minsi joined the cast. He is expected to be a golden intern. "I feel honoured to have such a rare experience," he said.
"As the youngest intern, I wanted to help and support her, and I worked with the idea of 'let's just be sincere, sincerity works,'" he said.
Seo Jin Lee praised Go Minsi as "the best intern". "I think Go Minsi can open his own restaurant in the future. I think she can do well enough with a food truck," he added.
In conclusion, PD Na said, "I'm proud of this crew that has been together for a long time, and if you want to see their chemistry, come to 'Jinny's Kitchen' tonight and enjoy their adjustment to Iceland."
Meanwhile, 'Jinny's Kitchen' 2 premieres tonight at 8.40pm.
