"Did you get your dopamine fix?" (Giselle)

Aespa exploded with 'Metal Dopamine' (metal taste + dopamine). They invited their fandom, 'MY,' to a festival filled with intense music, performances, and their unique team colors and universe.

They delivered a performance like a drama. The concept was the multiverse, completing a stage with Aespa's expanded universe. Their virtual artist and helper, 'Nævis,' also made a surprise appearance.

It was a time where Aespa and MY became one. Aespa performed 26 songs over 160 minutes. MYs responded with chanting and cheering. During the hit song parade, the entire venue turned into a standing area.

Aespa held their '2024 Aespa Live Tour - SYNK: PARALLEL LINE' concert on the 29th and 30th at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. This concert kicked off their second world tour.

'Dispatch' was there to capture the excitement of the last day.

◆ Welcome to aespa world

The concert boasted hot energy even before it began. Crowds filled Jamsil from the afternoon. With a baseball game between Doosan and SSG happening at the stadium across, even the city of Seoul recommended using public transportation that day.

At 5 PM, just before the concert started, fans waved their prepared banners and light sticks, eagerly waiting for Aespa's appearance. Some sang along to their hit songs from their seats.

Soon, the lights went out. Aespa opened with a sensuous VCR. In the video, the members appeared struggling with their identities in ruins, hinting at the team's unique universe story combining the real world, digital world, and multiverse.

"I'm the Drama."

The first song was 'Drama.' As Winter's deep voice resonated through the venue, cheers erupted. The four members appeared on a lift stage, illuminated by pin lights, walking through fog with eight dancers.

A series of fireworks marked the start of the concert. Aespa became the protagonists of a drama with their mere presence. As each member appeared on the screen, MYs' cheers intensified.

Karina greeted the fans, saying, "Let's have an amazing time together." Giselle shouted, "Since it's this hot, let's have an even hotter and more fun time."

◆ Spicy & Thirsty

It was a parade of hit songs. Aespa performed their representative songs, including "Black Mamba," "Supernova," "Mine," "Illusion," and "Spicy," showcasing the essence of electronic dance pop live.

They exploded with sweet and salty charm. In "Salty & Sweet," they completed a sensual mood. Giselle's crisp rapping, Karina's flexible movements, and Winter and Ningning's vocal power stood out.

The stage made one forget the heat. When Ningning shouted, "It's so hot and sweaty, I'm thirsty," the melody of "Thirsty" began to play, bringing coolness with their refreshing voices and vibe.

They sang serenades to their fans, performing "Prologue" and "Long Chat" in succession. Karina even sent hand hearts to fans during the performance, showing her affection for MYs.

They showcased their individual talents through solo stages, highlighting their unique abilities. Giselle unveiled "Dopamine," which she participated in writing and composing, for the first time, with a dreamy charm and a floor-crawling performance.

Karina heated up the stage with her solo track "Up," transforming into a hip-hop warrior and delivering intense old-school rapping. Ningning performed "Bored," which she wrote, and Winter showcased "Spark," a song she wrote and composed, creating a dynamic stage.

Giselle introduced her song by saying, "We discussed everything from the concept to the lyrics and sound." Ningning added, "It has a free and chill vibe. I hope it can be released as a track if we get the chance."

Winter explained, "The song's meaning is that with just one small spark, we can burn even brighter. I engraved MY on my in-ear and mic. I wanted to be with you all on stage."

◆ Hello real world.

As the concert reached its climax, the fans' cheers grew louder. When Karina asked the fans, "Are you just going to sit there? This is the part to jump and have fun," the entire audience stood up.

It was a moment where Aespa and MY became one. The members continued with "SYNK," "We Go," and more without a break. In "Leave My Life," they descended into the audience, high-fiving fans and connecting with them.

The atmosphere escalated. Karina asked again, "Shall we jump and have fun one last time?" and MY responded with loud chants and cheers.

The VCR and stage setup, which tied into Aespa's 'Avatar' concept, were also noteworthy. The video and stage direction, setlist, and more organically captured Aespa's story of reality, digital worlds, and multiverses.

In the first VCR, the members in the real world experienced identity confusion from the sounds of their avatars in the virtual world. Eventually, the members opened a mysterious door and played freely in a flower field.

They announced the start of a new universe. In the virtual world, avatars dressed as ballerinas and characters breaking through walls met in one space, smiling at each other.

Aespa's iconic character "Nævis" also made a surprise guest appearance. With the narration "Hello real world" and LED effects making it seem like the screen was breaking, Nævis emerged from a virtual forest and performed with the dancers.

◆ Next Level

Aespa continued to run towards the climax of the concert with their signature intense songs. The finale effects, including sparklers and fireworks, began to go off one after another.

They delivered charismatic performances. The members seamlessly connected "Trick or Trick," "Set the Tone," "Next Level," and "Armageddon," all rearranged with band sounds, executing intense choreography perfectly.

The last firework went off, and the stage went dark. Soon, encore requests poured in. From the fourth floor seats, fans started chanting "Aespa." They chanted in unison for over three minutes.

Reappearing on stage, Aespa heated up the additional setlist with "Bahama," "Voices," and more. Karina looked around the first to third-floor MYs, her eyes welling up with tears. Confetti scattered across the entire venue.

MY poured their hearts out to Aespa, holding a placard event they had prepared. Karina responded, "It's because of you that we can be complete. Thank you for being with us."

Winter, after the concert, said, "Aespa will show you more diverse sides in the future. We haven't shown you everything yet. Please look forward to it. I hope we can be together in an even bigger venue next time."

Meanwhile, Aespa will continue their world tour, performing in a total of 14 locations. In July, they will visit Fukuoka, Nagoya, Saitama, Singapore, and Osaka. They plan to expand their tour to North America and Europe next year.
