ZEROBASEONE is making waves in Japan. They ranked first in sales among K-pop artists in the first half of this year.
On the 3rd, Oricon announced the "Oricon H1 Rankings 2024" on its official website. ZEROBASEONE ranked second in the "Rookie Ranking" for sales by artist.They achieved sales of ¥1.01 billion ($8.6 billion). The number one spot went to Japanese idol Ae!group. ZeroBaseOne also made waves by becoming the highest grossing K-pop artist.
The Oricon First Half Rankings were launched in 2018. Sales from singles, albums, DVDs, Blu-rays, digital singles/albums, streaming, etc. are added together during the counting period.
ZeroBaseOne officially debuted in Japan in March. Its first single, "Yura Yura - Unmei no Hana," became a half-million seller within a week of its debut.
The single was also certified "double platinum" by the Japan Record Association based on March shipments. This means that it has achieved cumulative shipments of more than 500,000 copies.
"Yura Yura - Unmei no Hana" also became the highest-selling debut single by an overseas artist in its first week of release. It also topped the Oricon Weekly Singles, Weekly Total Singles, and Monthly Singles rankings.
Meanwhile, ZEROBASEONE will be performing at Summersonic 2024, Japan's largest urban music festival, this August. The group will perform in Osaka, Japan on 17 August and Tokyo on 18 August.
