NewJeans has recently been gaining popularity on the US Billboard Song Chart. They are cruising on the global charts with two new albums released in Korea and Japan.
Billboard announced the latest chart (as of the 13th) on the 10th. NewJeans ranked 22nd in the 'Global' (excluding the US) and 34th in the 'Global 200' with their Japanese debut single title song 'Supernatural'. The included song ‘Right Now’ is ranked 120th globally.
The double single 'How Sweet' has been on the global charts for 6 consecutive weeks. The title song of the same name ranked 30th and 46th on the Global and Global 200, respectively. The song ‘Bubble Gum’ ranked 64th and 153rd, respectively.
Billboard also highlighted ‘How Sweet’ in particular. It was selected as one of the recently announced 'Critic's Choice: Top 20 K-Pop Songs of the First Half of 2024'. Billboard commented, “It is a song as cool and refreshing as the summer breeze.”
NewJeans has recently become extremely popular in Japan. Since the Tokyo Dome fan meeting last month, the song has been strong on major Japanese music charts day after day. A total of 11 songs were featured in Spotify Japan's 'Daily Top Songs' (as of the 8th).
As a Japanese single, it also reached the top of the domestic charts. 'Supernatural' has maintained first place on the Bugs daily chart for a week (2nd to 8th), and reached its highest ranking of 5th on Melon's 'Top 100'. ‘How Sweet’ also ranked 3rd on this day.
Meanwhile, NewJeans will appear on KBS-2TV's 'Music Bank' on the 12th. Starting with this, they will perform their Japanese single 'Supernatural' on domestic music broadcasts such as MBC-TV's 'Show! Music Core' and meet their fans.
