A film featuring the concert footage of girl group BLACKPINK's eighth anniversary world tour will be released in more than 110 countries around the world.
According to CGV on Tuesday, the film "BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS" will be screened at CGV special cinemas nationwide and in more than 100 countries around the world on the 31st.
The film captures the final stage of BLACKPINK's world tour, "Born Pink," which took place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul last September, and the members' powerful performances.
The main trailer, which was released ahead of the film's release, captures the world tour, which attracted an audience of 1.8 million people. The members run around the traditional Korean hanok tile set, interacting with fans and setting the mood with their unique vocal talents and performances.
Alongside the film's domestic pre-sale opening on the 17th, the company has also confirmed that it will be hosting a Pongbong screening, a week one event. At the screening, fans will be able to watch the film while waving pom-poms, allowing them to enjoy the excitement and emotion of the world tour even more vividly, CGV said.
BLACKPINK made waves on 8 August 2016 with the release of their single "SQUARE UP," which featured the songs "Whistle" and "Boom Boom.
Since then, the group has grown into one of K-pop's leading global girl groups with hits such as "Like the Last Time," "To Do Do Do Do," "Kill This Love," "How You Like That," and "Lovesick Girls.
