The video of 'BTS' member Jin's torch relay, which has been exploding in popularity around the world, has been pinned to the official account of the Paris Olympics.
On the 15th of this month, the official account of the Paris Olympics pinned the video of Jin's torch relay on the 14th as the main post, causing many fans to react with enthusiasm.
"11 days until Paris 2024!" the official account said, along with the caption, "Watch the flame get closer with BTS' Jin." In the video, Jin is seen waving to the crowd and walking with the torch in one hand.
After a fan commented "My Man" on the video, the official Paris Games account corrected the comment, saying "Our Man," which sparked a heartwarming response.
The love for Jin didn't stop there. The official account of the Paris Games also showed their love for Jin by posting a picture of him carrying the torch and captioning it with a heart emoji, saying, "Team Kim Seok-jin (Jin's real name) always wins."
The official account of the 2028 LA Olympics also responded with "Hi, Jin," which made people laugh, while the official account of MTV in the United States used the phrase "JIN-lympics" to describe the torchbearer. Jin's participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic torch relay also garnered global attention, with the event being covered by Mexico's biggest station, N Más (Televisa).
Social media users showed their love for Jin with comments such as "The official account's hosting is so funny and cute," "He's a real superstar, I can't believe it," "Our Jin, isn't he so cute?", "He looks even more handsome since he brought his army," and "He's a great national hero."
After successfully carrying the Olympic torch in Paris amidst the cheers of thousands of 'ARMY' (BTS' fandom), Jin said through his agency Hive, "I am so honoured to be able to participate in the torch relay today," adding, "I am truly grateful to the ARMY and the fans who made it possible for me to carry the torch."
Meanwhile, Jin, who was discharged from the army on 12 December, has promised a busy second half of the year in BTS's absence.
