TXT ranks #2 in US album sales...highest ranking K-pop act for second year in a row
TOMORROW X TOGETHER has proved its popularity in North America.
US data research company Luminate released the '2024 Midyear Music Report' on its website on the 17th (KST).
The report covers the period from 29 December last year to 27 December last month. The report is ranked by U.S. physical album sales, digital downloads, and audio streaming.
According to the report, TOMORROW X TOGETHER ranked second on the list of "Top CD Album Sales in the U.S.". Their sixth mini album, Minisode 3: Tomorrow, sold more than 190,000 copies.
It was followed by Taylor Swift. This is the highest ranking for a K-pop artist. In last year's report, they were No. 1 in the same category (Mini 5).
They also made the list of "Top US Albums - Overall Sales". Their new album is ranked sixth. Physical albums plus digital album sales were the highest.
"Minisode 3: Tomorrow" concludes the existing "Chapter of Names" series. It tells the story of remembering past promises and searching for 'you' together.
It went straight to No. 3 on the Billboard 200, Billboard's main album chart, on 20 April. It stayed there for seven weeks. It became the longest-charting K-pop album of the year.
Meanwhile, TOMORROW X TOGETHER will continue their first four-dome tour in Japan, "ACT: Promise in Japan," at Kyocera Dome Osaka on 27-28 April.
