According to Mun Kayoung's agency, PJ Entertainment, on the 18th, Mun Kayoung's first prose book, 'PATA', is set to be published overseas after signing a publishing contract with Taiwanese and Indonesian publishers.
Mun Kayoung has been gaining popularity as an actress overseas through her role in the drama "True Beauty" and has been receiving publishing requests from various countries.
'PATA', which was first released in Korea in March, is a prose collection that contains the intimate language of actor Mun Kayoung, who wants to face himself and the world around him fiercely. Through the new face of PATA, we can meet Mun Kayoung and the stories that are not him.
According to Wisdom House, Mun Kayoung's PATA will be published in each country through AtmanBooks in Taiwan and ShiraMedia in Indonesia. ShiraMedia, in particular, is a leading Indonesian publishing group that has published five Korean titles that have captured the hearts of the Korean public, including Ahn Kyu-cheol's The Backside of Things.
Mun Kayoung's "PATA" has attracted attention by announcing an unusual achievement in the publishing industry, as the second edition of the book was confirmed as soon as the domestic pre-sale began, and it sold five copies within a month of its release. Interest in author Mun Kayoung's first book of prose has been steady, with the book recently ranking as the best-selling book of the first half of the year in the essay category on major online bookstores.
Meanwhile, PATA is scheduled for publication in October this year and January 2025 by publishers in Indonesia and Taiwan, respectively.
