StrayKids will be making a special collaboration with a Hollywood film.
JYP Entertainment announced on the 23rd, "StrayKids will release their new song 'SLASH', the OST for the film 'Deadpool and Wolverine', on various music sites at 6pm on the same day."
'SLASH' was produced by the group's production team 3RACHA. The song was written by Bangchan, Changbin, and Han, along with composer Bersa Choi. It was inspired by the film 'Deadpool'.
The song was made possible thanks to StrayKids' relationship with Deadpool. The members had previously performed a "Deadpool"-inspired stage at Mnet's "Kingdom: Legendary War" in 2021.
At the time, "Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds mentioned StrayKids on social media. Bang Chan responded to his love. Since then, Ryan and StrayKids have formed a friendship.
StrayKids made a comeback with their new song "Chk Chk Boom" on the 19th of this month, and it was a success. On the day of their release, they sold 1,664,332 copies (Hanter Chart), achieving million sales in one day.
The music video is also hot. It remained the number one trending music video worldwide on YouTube for four days after its release. 'Deadpool & Wolverine' stars Ryan and Hugh Jackman also appeared in the video.
StrayKids will headline Lollapalooza Chicago on the 2nd of next month. They will kick off their new world tour, "Dominate," on the 24th and 25th and 31st September.
