Netflix series 'Squid Game' Season 2 has confirmed its release date. It has also made a surprise announcement about the new season's plans.
On the 1st, Netflix announced, "Season 2 of 'Squid Game' will be released on December 26th," and "Season 3, which depicts the final story, is scheduled to be released in 2025."
Director Hwang Dong-hyeok, who is in charge of directing, personally shared his thoughts on releasing Season 2 and Season 3 through a letter. He opened his speech with the powerful phrase, "The real game is about to begin."
He expressed his overwhelming emotions by saying, "I am so happy and excited to be able to write a letter to you informing you of the release schedule for Season 2 and the production news for Season 3."
He then asked, "Seong Ki-hoon, who foreshadowed revenge at the end of Season 1, returns and participates in the game. Will he be able to succeed in his revenge as he said?"
Director Hwang Dong-hyeok foreshadowed fierce competition between new participants that will continue until Season 3. "I will do my best in the remaining work to meet you all in a great way," he added.
On this day, Netflix released a still from Season 2 of 'Squid Game'. It features the main character Lee Jung-jae (as Sung Ki-hoon). He is wearing a training suit with the number 456, raising curiosity.
Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, and Gong Yoo will appear in Season 2, following Season 1. Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim, Lee Jin-wook, and Won Ji-an have also joined the cast.
