Group BOYNEXTDOOR will be making a comeback after five months with their mini 3rd album '19.99' on 9 September.
BOYNEXTDOOR (Sungho, Riwoo, Myung Jaehyun, TaeSan, Leehan, and Woonhak) uploaded a comeback teaser video titled "The Beginning of Countdown: 19.99" on Hive Labels' YouTube channel at 10 p.m. on the 12th. The video officially announced the name of Boy Next Door's new album and comeback date through the words "19.99" and "2024.09.09 18:00(KST)".
The short 16-second video begins with a mobile phone on a dark street at night. A number on the device's screen quickly rises and counts down, and the video ends with an unidentified figure snatching the device. The identity of the person who took the device and the relationship between the countdown number and the album title '19.99' sparks a lot of speculation and questions.
"19.99" is the group's first new song in about five months, following the release of their mini album "HOW?" in April this year. With 'HOW?', BOYNEXTdoor achieved a 'half-million seller' in the first week of sales on the Hater Chart, and also achieved great achievements by entering the Billboard 200, the main album chart of the US Billboard, for the second consecutive time following their mini album 'WHY...'.
In particular, BOYNEXTDOOR made a successful debut in Japan in July, further increasing their weight class. Their Japanese debut single, "AND," shipped over 250,000 copies in the month of release alone and was certified Gold Disc "Platinum" by the Japan Record Association (as of July). As a result of their active activities at home and abroad, Boy Next Door has already surpassed 1 million cumulative record sales this year (according to Circle Chart). With their rising status, fans are more excited than ever for their comeback.
Following their comeback next month, Boy Next Door will perform at Japan's largest music festival, SUMMER SONIC 2024, which will take place at Tokyo's Jojo Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe on the 18th.
