BTS, 'Dynamite' Surpasses 800 Million Cumulative Plays on Japanese Oricon

BTS has proven its popularity in Japan. It has set the first record for a foreign artist.

According to the latest statistics from Japanese Oricon, BTS surpassed 800 million cumulative plays with their digital single 'Dynamite' on the 14th.

BTS is the first foreign artist to have a song with 800 million streams. Among all singers, they are the third group to do so, following Yoasobi and Yuuri.

They added 100 million streams in 1 year and 4 months. The song surpassed 700 million Oricon plays in April of last year. It has been a long-running song even though it was released 4 years ago.

'Dynamite' is a bright and cheerful disco pop genre. It is characterized by an addictive chorus. It conveys a message of hope in the midst of a pandemic.

This is BTS' first English song released since their debut. The first K-pop singer to reach No. 1 on Billboard's main single chart, the 'Hot 100'. They have topped the chart three times in total.

Meanwhile, BTS is setting new records every day. Their 'Spring Day' has reached 1 billion cumulative views on Melon.
