NMIXX, Q&A to celebrate comeback

NMIXX will be back with new and special charms for fans this time. Ahead of the release of their new album on the 19th, they personally shared stories about their new album.

NMIXX will release their 3rd mini-album 'Fe3O4: STICK OUT' on various music sites at 6 PM on the 19th. This is their first comeback in about 7 months.

First, BAE said, "NMIXX worked hard to prepare the message they wanted to convey in the album through music," and "We want to repay the love our fans send us with more than that."

NMIXX debuted in February 2022 with the single 'AD MARE'. Each album has left a strong impact with its unique concept and fresh music featuring mix pop. This time, they will once again show off a new and special charm.

HAEWON said, "This is the second story of Fe3O4," and introduced, "The black sheep stands out, uniquely 'sticks out', and appears as one of the beings that NMIXX embraces and moves forward with."

LILY and SULLYOON said, "This is an album where you can see a more intense and fearless NMIXX," and "NMIXX, who still has a lot to show, has returned with a new and fresh charm, so please show them a lot of love."

The new album includes a total of 6 songs. From the title song '별별별' (See that?), 'SICKUHH' (Feat. Kid Milli), 'RED LIGHT SIGN, BUT WE GO', 'BEAT BEAT', 'Moving On', and 'LOVE IS LONELY'.

The title song '별별별' (See that?) is a mix pop genre. It is a song that fuses old school hip-hop and country genres based on a groovy rhythm. The eerie humming sound and the magnificent sing-along in the latter half It is a feature.

HAEWON: said, "It would be a good point to appreciate the double meaning of the word '별별별'" and "Please feel the song's nonchalant and chic vibe together."

She also greeted the fans. JIWOO said, "Thank you for always being with me and cheering me on. I will continue to work hard to show you a better side of me with the love of Enser."

KYUJIN: said, "I'm really happy that you waited for our comeback and that we're doing this activity together. Thank you for always silently supporting and loving Enmix. He asked, "Please take good care of us."

Q1. It's been about 7 months since the last new album. Please tell us how you feel about your second comeback in 2024.

BAE: NMIXX worked hard to prepare the album with the messages they wanted to convey in their music. We would like to thank the NSWER fans (fandom name: NSWER) who have waited for our comeback and repay you with more than just love by working hard.

JIWOO: NMIXX has made a comeback after 7 months. We prepared and practiced hard with the determination to show a variety of cool sides of ourselves. We are so excited and thrilled to show our fans our title song '별별별 (See that?)'.

KYUJIN: We put a lot of time and effort into making a great comeback. We are excited to show a different charm that will satisfy the NSWER fans' wait, and we are curious and looking forward to the reactions of our fans who will be surprised by NMIXX's new side.

Q2. Previous work Following 'Fe3O4: BREAK', this is the second album to utilize the chemical symbol 'Fe3O4' related to magnets. What does the album name 'Fe3O4: STICK OUT' mean? I'm curious about how it's connected to the 'black sheep' that appeared in the comeback promotion.

HAEWON: This album is the second story in the 'Fe3O4' series that contains 'a story about girls who have a ship burnt by an enemy and their adventure is disrupted, and they stay in the FIELD for a while'. Like 'STICK OUT', which means 'standing out', there are elements related to unique and distinctive beings throughout the album. 'Black sheep' is also a being that 'STICK OUT', and appears as one of the beings that NMIXX embraces and moves forward with.

Q3. As it is a 'Fe3O4' series, how does the new album 'Fe3O4: STICK OUT' connect to the previous work? Can you? Please define this new album in one word.

LILY: NMIXX is incorporating an exciting worldview centered around a space called 'MIXXTOPIA' into their music, and this album has a story that continues from their previous work. The title song 'See That?' is also the follow-up to 'DASH', so there's a connection in terms of music genre. If I were to define the new album in one word, I'd say it's 'an album where you can see a more intense and fearless NMIXX.'

SULLYOON: 'It's an album where you can see a new NMIXX.' NMIXX, who still has a lot to show, has returned with a new and fresh charm, so please show lots of love!

HAEWON: I'd like to define this album as 'a work that shines like a star and is sharp and deeply embedded.' I hope that it will have a strong impact and resonance for many people.

Q4. The 2nd mini album 'Fe3O4: BREAK' and the title song 'DASH' and the pre-released song 'Soñar (Breaker)' received good responses, heralding the successful start of the third series of the worldview 'Fe3O4'. I'm curious about the worldview narrative that will be told through the 3rd mini album 'Fe3O4: STICK OUT' and what kind of story you want to tell through it.

HAEWON: If the previous 2nd mini album and 'DASH' talked about breaking limitations and stereotypes (BREAK), this 3rd mini album talks about supporting, respecting, and moving forward in solidarity with the unique and peculiar (STICK OUT) beings called 'heretics'.

Q5. NMIXX's unique musical identity is 'mix pop' (MIXX POP), which fuses various genres into one song. What genres did you mix in this title song '별별별 (See that?)'? Please introduce some points of appreciation that you would like the listeners to pay attention to.

HAEWON: In this title song, we mixed old-school hip-hop and country genres based on a groovy rhythm. I think it would be a good point of appreciation to find the double meaning of the word '별별별'. It would be fun to feel the song's nonchalant and chic vibe and think, 'I feel a bit hip today listening to '별별별''.

Q6. All members are an 'all-rounder group' that boasts solid live and performance skills. I'm curious about the performance of the new song '별별별 (See that?)'. What is the secret to showing off unwavering live skills while performing a difficult performance?

BAE: Since I was a trainee, I've been practicing hard for live performances while telling myself, 'I'm still lacking.' I think my skills have improved because I've been diligently practicing and working with the members who are so good at it. I always learn a lot from practicing with the members. I think I was able to show a good side of myself because I have a habit of practicing whenever I feel like I am lacking. I want to show you more growth in the future!

JIWOO: I think the choreography for 'See That?' is the most difficult of all the title songs I've done so far. That's why I practiced the dance and the song even more. Also, in order to sing without shaking while dancing, I practice jumping. I think that's why my live performances became more natural after singing like that countless times.

KYUJIN: Since I was a trainee, I practiced live performances and spent a lot of time dancing and singing in front of other people. I think the time I spent diligently as a trainee has paid off during my activities after my debut.

Q7. Just like you pre-released 'Soñar (Breaker)' in your previous album, you've released a visualizer video for the second track, 'SICKUHH (Feat. Kid Milli)'. It received a hot online response right after its release. If you could leave a comment that would make fans even more excited? Besides 'SICKUHH (Feat. Kid Milli)', what 'NMIXX Picks' would you recommend that the public pay attention to?

LILY: Of course, we'll show you NMIXX's wide range of genres in this EP, including 'SICKUHH (Feat. Kid Milli)' and the title track, so please show lots of interest and love. Among the tracks on the new album, there's a song called 'BEAT BEAT', which is my pick! It's a song that goes well with summer, so I think Ensers will like it a lot.

HAEWON: I recommend 'Moving On'. Many fans loved the collaboration between the band sound and NMIXX's vocals, and now you can hear it as a sound source through 'Moving On'. Please look forward to it!

SULLYOON: Personally, I like 'BEAT BEAT' the most. It's bouncy and lets you feel NMIXX's wide vocal spectrum. I think you should pay attention to this song.

BAE: My pick is 'BEAT BEAT' too. When I first heard the demo, I thought it would be good to include it in this album, and I feel excited when I listen to this song. And I'd like to recommend 'Love Is Lonely' as well. It's a dreamy, sad, and somewhat endearing song. It's a song about 'a story of meeting each other after wandering without knowing where the end is'. I was impressed by the meaning of 'Even if the world ends, if I'm with you, there's nothing to fear, we'll be together in the end'.

JIWOO: I also recommend 'Love Is Lonely' the most. The first time I heard it, I really liked the song and wanted to sing it well, but it was harder to express than I thought. So as I practiced more, my affection for this song grew even more.

KYUJIN: I think you can look forward to NMIXX's new album, which is a 'song hotspot'. All the songs are good, but if I had to pick one, I'd recommend 'Moving On' where NMIXX's vocals really stand out. I'm really curious about the fans' reactions and tastes for the six songs, and I'd appreciate it if you could look forward to the entire album!

Q8.. The music color that comes to mind when you think of 'NMIXX' is getting darker. Is there a particular reaction that you remember the most? Also, if the members were to express NMIXX's music in a color, what would it be?

HAEWON: I think it's 'black'. If you mix all the colors together, it becomes black. I think NMIXX makes music where everything is mixed together. And just as the dark sky makes the stars shine the brightest, NMIXX seems to be making music that can make what they have shine the brightest.

BAE: I saw a comment on a live practice video that said, "If something looks easy, it means they did it well." I remember it and felt proud. Because I always thought, "How can they sing so easily?" when I saw other artists I respect, but it felt different to hear that from NMIXX.

Q9. Is there something you "STICK OUT" (stand out) for within the group?

LILY: I think the part that I "STICK OUT" the most is my lips. I usually take really good care of my lips, so they're really smooth. (Laughs)

HAEWON: The most "STICK OUT" is that I can adapt well to any situation.

SULLYOON: I can say with confidence that I'm the best at making cat sounds among the members. Ah! And my eyelashes are the longest among the members, so I think I'm the most 'STICK OUT' when it comes to eyelash length.

BAE: My bag size is really 'STICK OUT'. I carry the most stuff in my bag. Even though I'm trying to reduce my stuff, there's always not enough space. People around me seem to mention my bag at least once a day.

JIWOO: I think my unique voice is my most striking charm point! I think it really brings out the sticky points in the middle of the song.

Q10. NMIXX, who is making a comeback with the title song '별별별 (See that?)', how would you rate their new album 'Fe3O4: STICK OUT'? Please tell us why.

LILY: I'd give this FE304: STICK OUT 5 out of 5! Of course, it's NMIXX's album, so I'm a little biased, but I want to keep listening to the songs made up of our members' voices. I think it's because the members' vocals are so diverse that I don't get tired of listening to it no matter how much I listen to it.

SULLYOON: Since the title song has '별별별' in it, I'd like to give it three stars.

JIWOO: I'd also like to give it three out of three based on the title song. It's because it includes the addictive and refreshing song '별별별 (See that?)' that combines old school hip-hop and country genres.

Q11. In July, you performed at two large overseas music festivals: 'IDays' in Milan, Italy and 'BST Hyde Park' in London, England. If there's a memorable moment or special episode, please share it with us.

LILY: I remember the moment when we first revealed 'Moving On' from the new album. It must have been the first time the audience heard the song, but I was so touched by how enthusiastically they responded. I was moved by the scene where so many people raised their hands and clapped during the applause part. I think it will be an unforgettable moment.

SULLYOON: I was really nervous before going on stage. Once I got on stage, the audience responded so well that I was able to perform without being nervous. I think the most memorable part is the enthusiastic response.

KYUJIN: When I sang a pop song medley, everyone at the festival sang along, which was so enjoyable and deeply moving. I think I will never forget it!

Q12. I am curious about your thoughts on completing your first fan concert, which was held in 4 regions in Korea and abroad and had 8 performances. You will be holding your second fan concert, 'NMIXX 2ND FAN CONCERT NMIXX CHANGE UP: MIXX LAB' from October 4th to 6th. What can fans expect from it?

HAEWON: Since you have a new album coming out, I think you can expect a richer setlist than before. I want to briefly mention that you can meet NMIXX with various concepts for three days.

JIWOO: I was so happy and glad to meet Ensers from various regions while doing the fan concert. Also, after finishing the first fan concert, I thought, 'There's still a lot I haven't shown you yet, so it's a bit disappointing,' but I plan to show you everything at the second fan concert. NMIXX will show you various concepts, so please look forward to it.

BAE: This second fan concert is planned to be able to communicate with Ensers more closely than the last time. And there will be different stages with different concepts prepared for Ensers every day.

Q13. Is there a new modifier you want to get through this activity?

SULLYOON: You can see a lot of hip looks and charms in this activity. I hope there will be many responses saying, 'NMIXX also suits hip looks well.'

JIWOO: I want to get the modifier 'rich in expressions' through the 'Fe3O4: STICK OUT' activity. I am ready to enjoy the stage even more with various expressions.

KYUJIN: Personally, I want to be called 'Chic Maknae'! I will show off my chic charm on stage. (Laughs)

Q14. With 'DASH', you achieved first place on a terrestrial music show for the first time since your debut, and you have won multiple awards. What kind of achievements do you want to achieve with this album and the title song '별별별 (See that?)'? I am also curious about your aspirations for the artist you want to become in the future.

LILY: Just as 'DASH' was loved by many people, I hope that you will love the new song '별별별 (See that?)' as much as you love it. It is a song that will give you strength when you listen to it on your tiring commute or while exercising, so I hope you enjoy it energetically. I think it would be great if many people feel good and gain energy through NMIXX songs this summer.

HAEWON: I hope that more people will look up to NMIXX as a 'shining star'. I want to become a bright shining being as an artist who can perfectly digest various genres.

BAE: I hope that the messages contained in the music can be delivered to more people and that they can gain strength by listening to NMIXX music. I want to become an artist who gives courage and laughter.
