Singer Kim Jonghyeon will be enlisting in the army next month.

Evermore Entertainment announced on the 19th, ‘Kim Jonghyeon will be enlisting in the Army on active duty on 23 September to fulfil his military obligations.’ The company asked fans to refrain from visiting him.

The agency asked fans to refrain from visiting. ‘There will be no official schedule. Please understand that he will be enlisting privately for his safety,’ the statement read.

‘I would like to ask for your warm encouragement and support so that I can faithfully fulfil my military service obligations and return in good health,’ he concluded.

Kim Jonghyeon also shared his feelings about joining the army. ‘I came to tell you in person,’ he said via live broadcast. I promised to learn a lot of things,’ he said in a live broadcast.

‘It's most important not to get injured, so I'll stay healthy,’ he said, adding, ’They say time goes by quickly. Have fun,’ he added.

Kim Jonghyeon spent five weeks undergoing basic military training after entering the hospital. He will then be assigned to a battalion, where he will serve for one year and six months. His scheduled discharge date is 22 March 2026.

Meanwhile, Kim Jonghyeon will be holding a solo fan meeting called ‘ANDING’ on the 31st of this month at the auditorium of Unjeong Green Campus of Sungshin Women's University in Seoul.
